Fall Things to Do in Duluth, Minnesota

September 15, 2015

Fall is one of our favorite times of year – the days are sunny and bright, the nights are calm and cool and the hills are alive with color! This fall is shaping up to be particularly splendid and should last well into October.

One of our favorite spots to go is Spirit Mountain. The scenic chair lift is so relaxing and offers up an expansive view of the lake, St. Louis Bay and the river. For those of you who want a little more excitement, the Alpine Coaster is for you with its speed, twists and turns. And you still get a great view of the fall foliage around you. After all that fun, be sure to take a bite to eat at the Grand Avenue Chalet.

Oktoberfest is just around the corner in Duluth! Enjoy the taste of authentic German food, beer, dance and music October 9 – 10, 2015 with Midi Restaurant in the Fitger’s Courtyard. You can order authentic Bavarian fare all week October 9 – 16 at the restaurant during normal business hours.

Boo at the Zoo is back again this year October 10 and 17 at the Lake Superior Zoo. We recommend that you purchase tickets in advance and dress up for some animaltastic trick-or-treating.

We invite you to take the train to the hidden pumpkin patch aboard the North Shore Scenic Railroad October 15 – 18. Scarium at the Aquarium is October 25 where children in costume get in free with a paid adult admission. Enjoy Hartley Nature Center’s Howl-o-ween and the Mall-o-ween events on October 31.

We celebrate Halloween the fun way at the Edgewater with Tiki Freaky Halloween! Reserve now and enjoy games, contests, movies and a bus to the Mall-o-Ween event at the Miller Hill Mall.
