July is super special in Duluth. Duluthians know how to celebrate the heights of summer time fun! July starts with Fourth Fest – Duluth’s fabulous Fourth of July celebration with the area’s largest fireworks display over the Duluth-Superior harbor. Visitors and residents can head to Bayfront Festival Park for music, games, food vendors and plenty of beer to purchase. The Edge also has fun 4th of July activities planned for the weekend!
Downtown Duluth Sidewalk Days runs July 8 – 10, 2015. Local shops pull out all the stops (and the inventory) for this once a year event with plenty of sales of retail items, food and beverages along Superior Street in Downtown Duluth. Not interested in shopping? There is a classic car show and street dance that are sure to be just as entertaining.
July 10 kicks off Movies in the Park at Leif Erickson Park. Bring a blanket and enjoy a show in the great outdoors. This event is open and free to everyone. Movies in the Park will run every Friday evening at dusk (weather permitting) until the end of August.
Got a little princess? The Princess Tea on July 21 aboard the North Shore Scenic Railroad train might be that summer event that leaves a lasting memory for your princess. There will be five grown- up Princesses to teach the little princesses all about a royal tea party. Fridays in July also bring the BBQ in the Diner –diner car that is. Enjoy Famous Dave’s summer BBQ and a scenic train ride up the North Shore.
When the temps go up, there is nothing better than enjoying a nice, cold beer. The Duluth Experience offers tours of area breweries along with tastings. They also offer historical and adventure tours for those looking for something a little different.
Cooling off from the heat of summer is always fun at the Edgewater Hotel & Waterpark with our indoor waterpark and outdoor pool overlooking Lake Superior. Reserve now before summer ends!
