Spring Things to Do in Duluth

March 16, 2017

Where can you find the luck of the Irish, Easter Bunny eggs, and Beauty and the Beast? At the Edgewater!  As the snow melts we are getting set for spring at the hotel with great activities for the family and in Duluth with a whole lot of entertainment and fun!

Luck of the Irish at the Edge in Duluth

At the Edgewater, everyone can enjoy the luck of the Irish with clover themed crafts and lucky movies every Friday & Saturday during the month and a scavenger hunt in the waterpark March 17 & 18.

In March, you can catch The Depot’s exhibition America’s Monsters, Superheroes and Villains with over 300 vintage toys, games, posters, and artifacts – how many will you recognize from your youth?  This show runs the entire month and is sure to bring back some great memories.

And speaking of great memories – Rain-A Tribute to the Beatles is playing at the DECC on March 9.  This foursome will definitely take you back in time with the music and theatrical performance of the Beatles.

April brings bright greens to Duluth as leaves bud out and the grass pops up.  This is also when spring fever hits and the Edgewater has the cure!  Join in the fun of an Easter Egg hunt in the arcade and an Easter scavenger hunt April 14 & 15. April is also when we celebrate this beautiful planet with Earth Day activities on April 22.

Events April 14 & 15, 2017

The annual Arrowhead Home & Builder show runs April 5 – 9 at the DECC. A very special exhibit will be at the show – the 9/11 Never Forget Mobile will travel to the show.  This exhibit will have interactive displays, education as well as audio and images from that day.  Joey Green is back by popular demand.  Get a lesson on grilling tips from self-proclaimed “Grillologists” Mad Dog and Merrill.  And, of course, you will find all the things to inspire you to make a few changes at home.

The UMD Theater will bring a production of Disney’s The Little Mermaid to the stage – complete with music and “all things human.”

May flowers are sure to be blooming as the Edgewater brings you Beauty & the Beast.  We will have Beauty & the Beast themed crafts and movies all month and a very special weekend May 19 & 20 Beauty & the Beast event.

Be Our Guest Weekend

The Homegrown Music Festival runs April 30 – May 4 featuring over 200 acts and artists across the twin ports.  Check the schedule for times and locations as the music is all over town.

Duluth Boat Show | Outdoors Deer Classic

February 17, 2017

Edgewater Hotel & Waterpark Boat Show

Don’t let the winter winds and melting snow deter you from a great time in Duluth! This is the time when we get ready for spring and summer with the Duluth Boats, Sports, Travel and RV show and the Northland Outdoors Duluth Deer Classic show at the DECC Now – February 19, 2017.

There will be plenty of boats and fishing gear for everyone to wish they had. There will be wonderful places to travel to. There will be beautiful Recreational Vehicles that have more bells and whistles that you would know what to do with. And there will be some great entertainment for the whole family to enjoy.

On the main stage will be Mountain Faith, whom you may remember from the 2015 season of America’s Got Talent. Since then they have shared the stage with some of country music’s greatest like Willie Nelson and Loretta Lynn.

In the Lake Superior Ballroom, you will find the Endangered Animal Exhibit featuring some live animals and other exhibits highlighting their plight and what we can do to avoid their extinction.  This exhibit will be interesting and educational for everyone.

And make sure to give the kids a chance to try out the all-terrain vehicle (ATV) simulator provided by the DNR.  This simulator will allow kids to feel what it is like to ride the hills and encounter different situations controlled by the operator.

The Northland Outdoors Duluth Deer Classic show runs in conjunction with the Duluth Boat show and offers a plethora of things to see and do for hunters. If you have a good rack that needs to be measured, bring it in and that can get done for free.

After a full day looking over the latest and greatest for the season, relax and enjoy the heated indoor waterpark and a cool beverage at the Edgewater.  Check out our specials page for our discounts and reserve your room today!
