Bentleyville Trains at the Edgewater Hotel

November 7, 2017

The snowflakes are flying and red and green are in the stores – It’s time for the winter holidays and Bentleyville!  America’s largest free holiday light display welcomes visitors (weather dependent) November 18 through December 26. Bring a toy or food to donate if you wish.  Enjoy the festivities of hot cocoa, cookies, popcorn, visiting with Santa and Mrs. Claus, toasting marshmallows, warming by the fire, and seeing all the holiday lights!

Bentleyville Tour of Lights in Duluth MN - Edgewater Hotel and Train Packages

Let us make your visit to Duluth and Bentleyville as easy and full of fun as possible:

Step 1 – Find dates that work for your family.  Keep in mind that visiting during the week instead of Friday and Saturday will save you money!  AND Bentleyville will be less crowded during the week.  But don’t let that stop you – come on the weekends if that works, it will just take a little extra patience.  Bentleyville is enjoyable every day of the week! Check out the Bentleyville Crowd-O-Meter for more information.

Step 2 – Book a hotel room at the only hotel with a waterpark in Duluth.  At the Edgewater we offer significant savings during the week – you can even afford to stay 2 nights!
(Please note the Bentleyville Special is sold out:  Nov 18, Nov 24, Nov 25, Dec 1, Dec 2, Dec 8, Dec 9, Dec 15, Dec 16)

We know our guests love to take the train from the hotel to Bentleyville and back, so we have added additional nights!  The train, operated by the North Shore Scenic Railroad, will transport our guests on Thursday nights November 30 – December 21 and Wednesday, December 20.

Fall in Duluth

September 14, 2017

There is a briskness in the morning air and the smell of autumn on its way.  The Northland shows it many colors at this time of year leading up into the festive holiday season.

2016 Tiki Freak Halloween Event

2016 Tiki Freaky Halloween Event at the Edge ~ Fun for staff and guests alike!

One of the more spectacular sights along the shores in the Hot Air Balloon Festival September 15 – 17, 2017, at Bayfront Festival Park.  Everyone will enjoy flying a kite, taking a tethered ride in a balloon, or just enjoying the craft brews, live music and delicious food.  This weekend also has the Northshore Inline Marathon on September 16 and the Chester Bowl Fall Fest.  Fun events for the whole family!

Running September 16 – October 29, the ever popular Engwall’s Corn Maze is open Saturday and Sundays with a few extra special event dates in between.  In addition to the super fun corn maze, there are also hay rides, pumpkin bowling, corn cannon, and their Big Corn-Top Tent.  Special events include Flashlight Nights and Field of Screams.  All ages will enjoy the thrill of shooting the corn cannon and attempting to break a window on a clunker car to win prizes.

As September wanes and October with thoughts of Halloween take over, the Haunted Ship again takes center stage in Duluth as being the best scare around.  Beginning October 5, the William A. Irvin will open after having been transformed into the spookiest and scariest haunted ship.  Don’t go it alone! The ghouls make take you with them!

October 14 & 21 everyone will be at Boo at the Zoo which is hands down the best trick-or-treating experience for kids and adults.  It is truly Duluth’s premiere event for families.  Those pumpkins will be full by the time you leave and the kids will have gotten to experience a variety of fun Halloween people and activities.

For one weekend only, the North Shore Scenic Railroad will offer the Pumpkin Train.  The Pumpkin Train takes passengers up the shore to the pumpkin patch outside of town where guests can pick their own pumpkin.  Once back at the station, you can enjoy a magic show, coloring activities, bouncy house, movies, and more.

On October 27-28, we will become your Halloween headquarters in Duluth – with Frankenstein, Zombie, Vampire, and Mummy themes!  We will have arts & crafts and snack stations for trick-or-treating for our tiki freaky guests. Enjoy a safe indoor trick or treating event. Bonus! The Zoomobile will be onsite both evenings from 5-7 pm. Reserve your stay now to enjoy this exclusive guest event!

Fall is fun in Duluth and we look forward to seeing you real soon!
