Summer isn’t over yet in Duluth! The month of August is full of great fun and family entertainment. The ever popular Bayfront Blues Festival is August 9 – 11 with the sweet sounds of the Robert Cray Band, Irma Thomas, Crankshaft and more than 25 other artists performing. The Lake Superior Dragonboat Festival and Races at Barker’s Island in Superior, Wisconsin, on August 23 – 24 raise money for the Essentia Health Foundation. The Tweed Museum on the University of Minnesota – Duluth campus is holding an exhibit by the artist Anne Labovitz until August 11. The Tweed Museum is admission FREE to the public. Also free is the Lake Superior Marine Museum in Canal Park where August 7 – 11 they are sponsoring Twin Ports Lighthouse Days with lots of fun and interesting activities. Wednesdays in Duluth feature sailboat races on Lake Superior. The deck at Midi’s Restaurant is a great way to enjoy these races. Fridays feature Movies in the Park at Leif Erickson Park. There is nothing better than being under the stars and outside watching a great show – and it’s free!
